Just wondering if anyone else has to trim their Chihuahua's eye whiskers? Rosies grow very long and curl around and towards her eyes ... if I don't trim them!
I don't mean her eyelashes, not entropian, but those whiskery things aboye eye!

Nope I don't touch them they have feeling in them like cats and use their whiskers. I don't know why hers continue to grow

If I didn't trim them they'd touch her eyes, which they actually did and it resulted in a trip to the vet as I think she she must have rubbed her eyes due to irritation  They curl down and towards eyeball, very odd. I don't trim them for fun. x |

Thats odd that they curl round, so I guess you have to trim them, the hair folicle must be slightley defformed. They should be straight out in front of them- they have them so that if something touches them they should blink- so that if something is about to get in their eye or if they are about to poke themself in the eye while running or something, they blink and stop it.

The Yes, I think it's not the norm, my previous LC didn't need her's trimmed and I don't know of others that do, certainly no one has mentioned it! I wouldn't cut them otherwise obviously, but try to remember to do them when I trim her nials  Missed them last time and noticed today she was squinting! hence post. All okay now though |

Huh. I just had to over and look at Brody's. He has about 3 fine hairs that come out of each eyebrow and they are about half an inch long and stick straight up or out. They don't curl down at all and they'd have to be REALLY LONG to reach his eyes. That's interesting about Rosie's. She just has monster whiskers it sounds like! LOL. |
