Dakota sounds congested & has been for awhile.....we had asked the Vet awhile back when it first started....& they couldn't hear anything at the time....so they said it wasn't anything to worry about. In the last week or so...she sounds really bad.....usually when playing, or when looking up at us....it sounds like she has a snotty nose.....is there any help for this problem? Over the counter? Or should we give the vet a go again?
We use to have the dogs on a 1 star rated food, & the one they are on now is rated 4 stars, & their coats are healthier, softer, & they seem to be more energetic.....so I thought that may help with her sinus problems...or whatever is going on....& it hasn't so far. Could she have food allergies?
The only daily medications that Dakota takes is 3 Phenobarbital tablets a day for seizures.

Poor Dakota! Is it definitely congestion youre hearing rather than reverse sneezing? Might be worth having the vet take another look for you, sounds like it might be an upper respiratory infection?

She doesn't have any nasal discharge....or any other signs other than what I mentioned above. I know sometimes when she plays rough....she starts hacking, or sounds like she is sucking in snot type sounds......but Ivy does that from time to time....just Dakota's seems to be an everyday thing. She doesn't seem to feel bad or anything either....she is very hyper. I have to work tomorrow during Vet hours....so I may have hubby take her in, & get her checked.....I worry over everything, lol.

Yeah if she's doing it more often I'd take her in so they can hear it. Maybe it's the medication causing it? There could be a small growth or something in there which is why I'd take her in just to be sure. If it's gotten bigger (being why it's happening more frequently) perhaps they could see it this time? I'm betting it's just allergy though but yea...better to have it checked out. Glad they're doing well on their new food still! YAY!!!

Heres a good video of reverse sneezing, just so you can rule it out. Reese only does it once in a blue moon, Leo and Miley more often. www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1rbSj2y6RU&feature=relatedI think that if it was caused by food allergies, she would be having other symptoms, like itching, as well. Hope its nothing, let us know what the vet says.

That's a great video. Ivy & Dakota both do that.......maybe I can catch on video what Dakota is doing & post it.....& see if maybe this other sound she makes is maybe the same as well...

Pixel is a bit snuffly and always has been since about 6 months old. vet said not a problem yet and may never be but to keep an eye on it.
Kind of like a pug sounds, is it like that?

You should! That way even if shes not doing it when you get to the vets youll be able to show them.
