That's such great news!! I'm sure you'll be so relieved when he's 100% healed & doesn't have any restrictions.

Heather I will be SO pleased when I don't have to watch him like a hawk and stress whether or not he's going to swell up haha

So glad little Chaos is doing so well, Lucy! I know the stress of surgery and aftercare and watching them is almost just as stressful as the surgery itself! Glad all is going so well though.

Thanks, Paula! We actually went for a walk in the beautiful weather for a couple of hours today and he did really well, no swelling or anything. Still want to take it easy though. When we got back they still weren't tired and Chaos was provoking everyone in to a bit of rough play and was standing on his back legs (which vet said was a big no no) I felt bad because he was having fun but I had to put him in his bed to calm down for a bit. He must hate me hahaha

Poor little Chaos, what kind of hernias did he have? Hope he is continuing to heal nicely and is able to run and jump all he wants soon! Miley had an inguinal hernia repaired about 6 months ago and she had to be in her crate most of the time while she recovered b/c she is such a feisty girl, the recovery is definitely worse than the surgery.

Same here, Katy. Chaos came home to me at 12 weeks with an inguinal hernia. Long story short, his breeder's vet noticed the hernia the day before I picked Chaos up. He offfered financial help or another puppy but I was set on Chaos. We thought it would be a few months before surgery was needed but because it was a piece of his intestine, I was too worried about strangulation as a lot of it was hanging out. So Chaos had surgery at 13 weeks old and was neutered at the same time to save him going under a few months later.
Then about 3 weeks ago I noticed another one, took him to the vet and it was confirmed to be a hernia (on the other side of his groin) and went in for surgery a few days after that.
The healing last time was a lot worse, mostly because he was so much younger but also because I didn't know so much what to expect and so I didn't know exactly how limited he should be. It got very swollen and had to be drained but this time its been perfect. Probably because he's not been allowed to walk lol.
Ok that wasn't a long story short. My apologies LOL
