Just wondering I remember you saying before the bloods you took brody to a highly populated place for his antibodies to remember! As my girls go out daily would I still need to do that before a titre?? I'm only going to vaccinate yearly for lepto as per my vet those foxes scare me

I'm only going to vaccinate yearly for lepto as per my vet those foxes scare me Yes, a couple days before the titer is drawn it's recommended to take them out to populated dog areas in order to activate their memory antibodies. Dog parks, the pet store, the vets office, anywhere there are lots of dogs. So no, you wouldn't need to make an extra effort to get them around other dogs if they are doing that daily already. I agree on the lepto because of your fox populations. I just want to add ... I am a big advocate for a more naturalistic approach to raising dogs and that includes a raw diet, minimal vaccines, no topical flea meds, and heartworm only every 45 days and only during the summer. Having said that - every person has to look at their own situation and do what they feel comfortable with! If not giving your dogs a yearly parvo/distemper shot would keep you up at night with worry - then it's not worth it. This method works for me, but I realize that it isn't for everyone.

I'm going to sound like a suck up but I swear I'm not. haha Just wanted to say Tracy that I think you're brilliant. I love having you on the forum and learning from you and I think its great that you don't push your beliefs on to anyone, even though quite a few of us are eager to get to as natural as we feel possible ourselves! We can all see how much Brody is benefiting from the way you do things and a picture is worth a thousand words

AWWWW thanks Lucy and Sarah. You guys are so nice. I just don't want to be accused of trying to push my beliefs on anyone as I would never want to do that. I know sometimes I can get a little 'enthusiastic' when talking about raw feeding or a more holistic approach to raising our dogs, but I realize there is more than one way to have healthy dogs. It's really nice to have a forum where we can all speak freely and have differences in opinions and not be called a bully or a 'raw nazi'. LOL!
