Cheryl is it possible you could drop them both off for 1/2 a day or a full day at a puppy daycare once a week for awhile? That is what I have done whenever I have had one that needs serious 'mellowing' or acting like what you described. A lot of them have small dog sections (and I would not leave them a place where there wasnt!), and it helps teach dogs to cope and gain confidence around other dogs and force-desensitizes them to a new place/new people. Sometimes WE are as much of the problem as they are. Dog shows have been fantastic for socializing my dogs but I know not everyone has that as an option so the puppy day care is another good option. It will cost a little $$ but when you have an animal for 15+ years IMO its worth a little investment!
What about taking them to a training class, too? One at a time, though. I would not do it in 'pairs' as there is only one of you.

Hmm that is a thought Kristi. Money is pretty tight right now and I got 2 that neeeeeed braces asap...so..I have started working with him on his manners and am going to start taking him out as much as possible. But If that doesn't work then I will got that route! That was a really good idea.  |

do you live in a busy town? i wuld just walk them everywhere and get people to offer them treats as a starter
on the barking front i think Daisy must of read this coz she hasn't shut her trap up all day! its yap yap yap all the time and i tell her shes bad and she kisses me hahaha then woofs again!!

Eh not really Sarah. We are in a neighborhood in a smaller town. With the weather now there is like NO one out haha. But when it's nice I may pass 1 or 2 people..sometimes with a dog. But generally we stay on separate sides of the street. lol
Finn still needs his Rabies shot, I gotta get that done here soon. : /

Kas goes totally nuts at the front door when anyone comes close. Even when I get back from work he barks the house down. I try and give him a firm "enough" doesn't always work though.

Whilst the weather is bad I would just do what you can. Try to install some discipline it's hard they are stubborn little things and I'm sure they purposely ignore us!! What about neighbours and stuff? Can people come over and see them? Lotus is fab at home just not too good on a lead think it gets her full of herself

Last night my nephew came over and naturally when he first came in they were barking(leila and finn) Finn carries on sometimes a bit longer than she does. Anyway I gave him some pieces of kibble and explained to him what i was trying to do with finn. So they sat for him and leila did some tricks as well while he treated them. He got a kick out of it I think and they dogs were good and didn't bark anymore after that! I've also been making them both (leila normally already does) sit before they get anything. I am going to consciously work on it all the time.

My two are a bit like this - only outside though. In the house they are great when people come over they are all over them but on walks (and we walk alot and where there are alot of dogs) they are a nightmare. before I got Rez it wasn't like this - Pixel took her lead from our very mellow and social collie but Rez upset all that. He's different - he hates other dogs and has gone from being afraid to wanting to kill them! I have had to start keeping him on the lead but he still lunges and barks at other dogs. i do a 'ahh ha' and walk him off in the other direction - as per Victoria Stillwell but not seeing any results just yet. He's a flamin nightmare and now Pixel barks at other dogs too! Hoping the walking them off and being disapproving will help a bit because I hate it. Especially as Pixel was socialised SO heavily but now takes her queues from naughty Rez!
