raw is the best.. but depending were you live it can be expensive.
i feed raw the first year then moved to a good quality kibble (orijen) Raw was just too much $$
Mine get a small handful in the AM and then another larger handful at dinner time. If i notice them getting fat.. i just cut back a bit at night.

Raw? I thought it would only be for medium or larger breeds? My previous dog was in raw diet too. A pomeranian. but it's okay. She's a lot bigger than a chi. Is it really going to be ok if i feed a chi with raw and bones?

Is it really going to be ok if i feed a chi with raw and bones? Brody is an average 5 pounds and he is raw fed. There are some people feeding 3 and 4 pound chi's on a raw diet and they are thriving. I use mostly cornish hens (small chickens) for bone content and fill in the rest with meats (bison, venison, pork, beef, rabbit). Lucy has a great video on here of her crew eating whole quail.

As Tracy and Sarah said, its totally fine. Of course, you adapt what you feed to your dogs size. Certain bones I wouldn't give because their teeth are a lot smaller. For bone content I mostly feed chicken wings, but sometimes chicken carcass and also lamb ribs.

I feed my chihuahua Merrick Grain Free Chicken and Sweet Potato and it has made his fur so much softer and flake-free
