I know, me too, Sarah. It's very hard seeing her like this, but just hoping for the best with her legs. What's making it a little easier is she is in very good spirits and and happy. Wagging her little tail and turning on her back for belly rubs already. haha. It was so wonderful to see her happy little joyful personality this soon. One more pic that I took a bit ago.

Have to say I wish it was 6 weeks in already for her, but we'll get there. Just thrilled she is home.

Awww this is the best news ever!! She really looks good Paula. Sometimes after a major surgery they have that 'sick' look in their eyes and she doesn't - she looks bright and alert. Is she peeing/pooping/eating? The incisions look clean and good. It's hard to get everything looking great on a joint because it is constantly moving. The bruising may get a little worse before it gets better and may extend and get darker, so be prepared. As long as it doesn't look infected (red, drainage, heat, swelling) then it should be just fine. I think she will heal quickly. She was in really good shape before the surgery and that counts for a LOT in post op recovery. The icing and then the heat sounds like what they do for human knee replacements! Neat! I'm so happy. Just thrilled that she is home. I know you are so relieved to have her back. So cute about Pip.

Thanks Tracy! She is doing really well, much better than I expected honestly. She just finished her dinner and was really happy to have it too. She chowed it all down. yay. Had some water and she did go pee, yes. I took her out with her harness and she is putting weight lightly on her legs, so that went fine. I have to take her and Pip out separately because Puip is just so excited to see her I'm worried her jump her or something. He's acting so revved up. lol. So I have to be careful with that. She is not really comfortable using her legs yet, of course, but is doing well enough. The range of motion exercises I do a few times a day and then I do these exercises where she stands on a table and I lightly shift her weight from left to right. What I like is this hospital is 24 hours, so they told me I can call at absolutely any time at all if something concerns me. She has her first recheck in a week. We'll see where she stands then. Right after she ate she fell right asleep. She's very tired from all the stress, of course. She is being amazing though. I'm so pleased. I just hope the surgery works out well. It is a bit hard for me to imagine her using her right leg normally, but hoping for the best.

No poo yet though, forgot to mention. I'm thinking that is going to be a lot more difficult for her. :/ They said she might not go for a day or so and that would be normal. Also normal for it to be a bit loose.

Aww Paula I'm so happy for you. As Tracy said, she does look alert, which is great to see.
Those pics look painful but as I said before, I was expecting something else. It looks very neatly done.I've never seen LP surgery pics so perhaps its normal but anyway, thank you for sharing the picture.
Love Roo in her little crate, how comfy does that look! She's absolutely tiny, bless her!
