Didn't his past owners get it checked out or didn't your vet notice him when you took him for a check up?

Any kind of lump would worry me. Id get him looked at as soon as you can just to make sure its harmless.

Hmmm strange?! Matilda had a series of histiocytomas when she was younger. Those were basically warty looking growths that came basically over night. But after a few weeks they'd dry up & flake off. The biggest one she had was on her ear & it was nasty looking. Looked like a tick because it got dark. That lasted a bit longer & I had to pick it off after it dried up. GROSS. LOL
But histiocytomas usually happy on the face/chest/legs I believe. If he's had it for this long I don't think I'd rush him in to the vet. Next week (IMO) would suffice. It's obviously not getting worse or bothering him. But definitely kind of odd & definitely worth a mention to the vet at some point. It may be something they can remove somewhat easily...?
