The girls were getting between 1/3 and 1/2 scoop 2x daily. Now that I will not be feeding them as puppies, do I really cut this in half? One is 3.2 lbs. and one is 3.4 lbs. I want them healthy but not chubby!
I'd appreciate knowing how much you feed yours who weigh similar. Thanks so much!!

Why would you not feed them as puppies when they are only 6 months?? They aren't considered adult until over 1.
I have a 4lb 11 month old and when I give ziwi once in a blue moon she gets about 20 pieces of the dry

Oh ok!!
As they are being spayed before their first season I wouldn't worry cut back a little at first like 3 squares and keep an eye. Pups spayed early seem to finishgrowing later in my experience my daisy was spayed at 6 months and didnt finish in height til she was 1. I never had issues with her gaining weight although I know some adult dogs do. I would just keep an eye if they start to gain cut them back a bit. I deffo would not put a puppy on adult portions if anything if up exercise rather than cut food back too much

Thank you VERY much! I will keep feeding close to what they have been getting. One of mine is a skinny little girl so perhaps I will give her the extra squares that I reduce from her sister.
Oh and my husband who walks them and loves having them outside is already counting the days until I will let him harness them and take them out so hopeful exercise will also keep them strong and healthy!
Thanks again!

Have they been spayed already? Did I miss something?? I honestly think it's the older dogs who have already had a season that get fat after spay/neutering and those who don't exercise their dogs! I'm sure you will Be fine

Yes! Spayed 2 days ago. Nice way to celebrate Hope's 7 month birthday! no. Ruby is doing great. Nearly back to normal acting. Hope is a wreck. She is our energetic one but she is just laying around. Not eating as usual (but eating and drinking some, thankfully) and snippy.
Called after hours vet last night and they asked that we bring her in. Apparently quite a bit of bruising, inflammation and they said she was definitely in pain. Got meds for pain and inflammation. She is just going to rest all day. Poor peanut.
