Kristis thread has got me thinking about my girls teeth! I don't brush their teeth! I probably should but I don't feel they need it! They are fed a total prey model raw diet, and have a whole host of chews available to them. I'm debating this petzlife stuff!! However there is no plaque on their teeth, they are pearly white and they have fresh breath! Obviously I'm aware this is all because of their diet but being the anallly retentive idiot I am I'm thinking I should do more!! Here's daisys mouth, 18 months old, had teeth brushed maybe 5 times when she was teething coz she STANK!! She is reverse scissors and her teeth are a little over crowded in the bottom.. There is no plaque between these teeth I've looked! She doesn't have a lot of teeth lol i1229.photo bucket.com/albums/ee464/Heychihuahuas/e23df0a3.jpg[/IMG] This is Lotus' 11 months old, never had her teeth brushed, a spec of plaque on the back I will pick off If it's not off after dinner tonight. See tiny bit of plaque on back molars So I'm wondering if I should do more like brushing and using some form of spray? Other than that tiny spec which daisy had at te same age??? I've never ever had an issue??

They dont look to have any problems at all but I would brush them just to ensure they stay healthy, like we do Mine also have a raw diet with bones and chews. They all get their teeth brushed a couple of times a week as well

Its surprising how quickly they take to having their teeth cleaned, mine seem to enjoy it now!! My basenji is so funny, she will stand there with her mouth open to have hers done lol!

I brush their teeth anyway, but I don't do full prey model. They get bones at least 2x a week, usually 3-4x. I think their diet is actually bone heavy lol. Anyway, Oakley has a few teeth that are grooved funny that I have to constantly scrape to get the plaque out of them. Everyone else has pretty nice teeth. I do brush every day I am home though (and have hubby use petzlife wheN I'm gone). I think the spray is good as its like a mini-insurance policy (Petzlife). Your girls teeth look great but I still think brushing is good! How many bone-in meals a week do they have?

Lol jess maybe Maya could teach mine a bit haha
Kristi they have about 4ish depending on what they are having I've upped their kidney content so giving a little more bone ATM just til they are use to it. Their diet is mainly red meat tho which seems to be more of a workout and they have those huge bones I get once a month or so just for the work out!!

Ugh her teeth are LOVELY i don't know i might still use the spray every so often.. but only if i started to notice some tartar it must be those ostrich thingies.. we have bullies, lots of pork ribs, lots of bone, big meat meals, and our two still have lots of tartar.
