I will probably do another blood test to check her white blood cell count. But aren't titers really expensive? I know as a pet owner, especially with 2, I should have a bunch of money set aside for vet emergencies, and hopefully soon I will, but right now we are pretty dang broke. I had to put her vet bill on my stepmom's Care credit card, and I will make payments to her. So I don't have any money to do a lot of stuff. I could do $50 or for another blood test to test her white blood cells tho, but a titer would prolly be a lot more.. But she is totally back 100% back to normal. My friend that saw her 2 days ago that said her cheeks were all sunken in, said they are back to normal and she looks 10x better. Her and Bella are back to fighting and growling and chasing each other around the house. She is eating kibble fine, not a ton, just 5 or so pieces at a time. I am still syringing her stuff to keep her hydrated, cuz I am scared not to. And she is still on her anti biotics. She is back to her begging self, standing on my shoulder licking my lips after I take a bite. She loves boiled chicken. Her nose is wet, and her nose is no longer running. She still has a little bit of eye boogers coming out once in awhile, but besides that she is great. She has gained 2 oz since Monday, so she is 3 lbs 2 oz right now. She should prolly be about 3 lbs 6 oz or so. Any ideas about what the heck she got? I really wish I could just know..

Glad she is feeling better I would still be very vigilant dogs can seem better when they're aren't. I would probably want clear tests too!!
Money is tight for a lot of us (I'm a single mum). I have my dogs insured so in instances like this I'm covered. I pay £32 a month for their insurance I couldn't afford it otherwise. I would hate to be in a positionwhereby if they needed some emergency surgeryabd I didn't have enough to pay altho I do have credit cards. It may just be worth insuring them just incase.

I agree with Sarah, I'd have them insured. As far as what caused her illness, it had to be some sort on infection, but what type you'll probably never know. I'm very happy that she is doing well, but I'd be cautious still for a little while.

Yeah, I am definitely going to look into getting them insured! I think it would help a ton if a situation like this popped up again.. I am scared to take them to dog parks and stuff now.. or even outside.. I don't want either of them to ever get this sick again..

Oh, and she is supposed to get her Rabies vaccination in 2 weeks on the 28th, do you think if she keeps improving and stays well, that would still work? I know that vaccine is hard on their system.. The other option would be to have it done during her spay, which is on June 22nd, but I don't want it done then since it's a hard vaccine.

Realistically you can't do that they are dogs they need to be out be social and be walked all you can do is be prepared for it in future and know what to look for.
I would definately insure them there are all sorts of levels of cover you can get I just think if you don't have £3000 to be able to pay out for surgery and frankly not many of us do in this climate then insure them

Will she still be okay to get her Rabies vaccine in 2 weeks?

I would wait on the rabies. Frankly, I'm pushing rabies off as far and as long as I possibly can. But I'm not having to spay either girl I have right now either and I know most vets won't spay w/o a rabies shot. Just be sure you pretreat with children's liquid benadryl for a day before and 2 days after, AM & PM. I do 1 cc of the Walgreen's dye-free bubblegum stuff per lb of dog. Whatever liquid benadryl you get, be absolutely certain it does not contain xylitol as that can kill your dog and will.
