The breeder deserves nothing awful person dot feel bad you haven't dOne anything wrong. Did you vet get her on a worming regime as I'd be pretty sure the breeder didn't worm her I'd get her off iams and on a better food. If you want Togo raw there's a brilliant thread in our raw section. If not get her on a good quality food. Orijen and acana and fish4dogs seem to be well received. Ziwi peak is a dehydrated raw that's very good it can be expensive but you feed very small amounts of it as they utilise it all. These foods are all balanced but it won't hurt to add some fish oil to her diet like salmon oil it'll help keep her skin supple and coat in good condition. Bitches can turn on their litters but it's no excuse for a breeder to sell them at 3 weeks. Awful lady I'd also socialise her heavily obviously she will have to be carried but take her everywhere get her use to all people sites and sounds and when she's vaccinated get her around other dogs!

Oh I think I've given the wrong end of the stick (doh!) She was sold to me at 8 weeks, taken from the bitch at 3 weeks due to rejection but mum was in the household still with two other chi's. Poppy's 9 weeks old today and I've had her a week. She was with her litter mates until 7 weeks, the lady sold them at 7 weeks but Poppy stayed in the household for a further week until I bought her. The lady seemed nice enough, phoned the evening we bought her home to see if she'd settled in okay. The household was BEDLAM and as a result Poppy seems rarely phased by noises or movements. I've been looking at the raw threads with interest and will move her onto a ready made brand and give her some chicken wings to begin introducing more bone matter into her diet and to add interest. Will get some salmon oil, any suggesstions of a good supplier? I leave kibble down for her She's had her first vacs and is going just about everywhere but for food establishments now. We take her out for 'walks' most days (usually inside my cardigan ) which she really enjoys. She appears to have a submissive nature and turns on her back to greet people. She's been excited and waggy at the sight of other dogs but obviously no contact yet. She's starting puppy classes on Monday evening as they are all the same age/stage and will be going to a doggie creche once her vacs are complete for proper doggie socialisation. The creche I've found has small groups, inside and outside play areas and another Chi and a Chinese crested so there are 'littlies' there already. Thanks so much for the advice Phew! ;D

Oh, and yes, she's been wormed and had flea/tic treatments (Stroonghold) at the vet's. He was a bit heavy handed and she screamed and bit him... we'd only heard her bark once before that, poor baby

Ah ok! Well she should still have stayed with her litter mates until 12 weeks but a lot of 'breeders' don't follow this. The BCC says that its members must not sell a puppy until it's 12 weeks old One of mine hates the vet she is the nicest dog on earth but is petrified of the vet idk why he's always been nice to her just think she sees him as the man with the ouch lol I wouldn't leave food down for her free feeding can cause picky eater you can give her 4 meals a day spread out and then down to 3 once she is 3ish months old then down to 2 meals at 6 months. It also makes it easier to potty train as you tend to know when they will need the loo as you know when they are eating?? How much does she weigh? I always use human supplements as they tend to be cheaper Were lucky to have some very knowledgeable users onthis forum so feelfree to ask what you want I'm sure they will Br willing o help
