She was they said it happens in all small dogs because when they are put under their body cools down

I think that is why our vets really don't like doing any surgeries w/o IV fluids...keeps their temp up I guess! I'm sure she'll pull through....but I know how hard it must be for you right now. I'm sure she's medicated now enough to feel much pain/discomfort. Once she is home with you it'll be easier to breath for you. I'll continue to keep you both in my thoughts!

She's home!
The pyo wasn't open as we first thought. I saw the discharge Saturday night, but not really any since which I thought was odd. Anyway when they were operating her cervix was tightly closed. So to say she's been lucky is an understatement! They couldn't say for sure but it's possible she was pregnant and a dead pup has caused the infection.
She's feeling very sorry for herself and is all curled up in a crate ATM.
So pleased it's all over with.
