I believe our dogs know how we feel. Lula knows when i'm ill or in pain. When i cut myself, she is super curious, trying to nuzzle her way to wherever the cut is.
If i'm feeling ill, she cuddles up to me and if i'm snoozing, she'll stare at me and put her paw and prod me on my face (very gently) I think to see if i'm still alive! lol
I think they also pick up when you don't like someone as they are sensitive to your vibes...I can't stand one of my dads neighbours (he's a bully and generally nasty man!) and when Lula sees him, she growls and huffs under her breath as if to say...'Keep away from my mummy' lol Yes I think they are good judges of character, from what I have seen. I trust Harry's instinct with ppl.

IDK but Oakley is a tiny little bitch and doesn't care!! . Bahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!! You know whats funny, my dogs used to care lol. When I broke up with my ex I was really upset and Kiki came and sat on my lap with me and snuggled but now if anything happens or I feel ill they just give me one look and walk off lol. But yes, I do believe that they knows whats going on and will try and cheer you up! Ha Lucy, of course they still care. It's just that you've obviously proved to them you can take care of yourself! ;-)

I think it really depends on the dog. Some dogs really seem in tune with people's emotions and others just don't seem to have that sense. My Pom didn't have that sense at all. Pip and Roo definitely have it. Pip acts sad when I'm sad and Roo acts unsettled as if to say "What's wrong mom? Don't be sad." Aw it's sweet. IDK but Oakley is a tiny little bitch and doesn't care!! LOL!! ;D

They didn't have a great start, no. Thankfully that's all changed. They really are the best little ones, I'm sooo lucky. x
