I need to decide what i'm going to feed my new puppy when he comes home. I really like what I have leila on which is taste of the wild, but the pieces are big and not suitable for alittle tiny fella. Currently the breeder has him on proplan puppy and the pieces are sooooo small I can't even think of something to compare to. I noticed our petsmart is now carrying Innova and of course they have royal canin, wellness, etc. DO any of those have a nice tiny kibble for a puppy? I dont want to keephim on anything purina. yuk!

He probably can eat a bigger kibble just fine, Bryco at Fromm's at 10 weeks old and 1 lb lol. I didn't think TOTW was that big so maybe try it out for him?

I'd try him on it Cheryl. They can adjust once they learn how to chew the pieces. I had Mari's puppies on dehydrated ZP at 7/8 weeks & those pieces are pretty big. They aren't crunchy...but they could have done crunchy had I a crunchy food for them. When we did kibble we fed EVO & they have small bites. I'm not sure I'd do EVO now because of the whole P&G thing. I don't know if they've changed anythign with the food or not. But I do know our local natural food store has been watching them closely since the switch & they still carry it. They hold very high standards for food they carry so I'm assuming it's still a good food. As long as you're ok with the P&G thing of course. :/ But I bet he could do the TOTW though.

well i could put warm water in it and soften it a bit for him. Leila has done very well on it and her coat is fantastic. Plus it's easy to get which makes me happy.

Yep, that's a great idea too! I'd give it a go.

I'm sure he'll do fine on it girl Softening kibble with water is always a good idea anyway -- just be sure it doesn't contain citric acid -- citric acid + water added can = bloat

no citric acid I always put water in leilas food. Mainly because I heard it was better for them and she really doesnt drink a whole lot anyway. But the last day or so she is drinking more and peeing more.
