Sometimes you can put a tupperware or a shallow pan taped on a broomstick and then slide it under her when she squats. You don't need much, maybe a couple teaspoons at the most. Then pour into a clean baggy and refrigerate.
I have seen the sample taken by syringe through the bladder and never saw a dog fuss. It's just a quick stick. Much less invasive than going through the urethra.

Sometimes you can put a tupperware or a shallow pan taped on a broomstick and then slide it under her when she squats. That's what I did when I needed a sample from my Pom years back. Just slipped a disposable type pan under her when she was peeing. It was very easy. I didn't want them to do the needle thing, seemed unnecessary really. I then transported it to the little plastic container they give you. You could probably just slip the little plastic container under her that they give you for urine samples too. You don't need very much. Good luck, Cheryl. Let us know how it goes.

I was able to get some of her pee when she squatted right b4 we left. It was barely enough but they saw some crystals and some bacteria in it. She got some antibiotics. Clavamox 62 mg for 10 days. I'm to bring her back for a recheck in a wk.

Glad you got it sorted, Cheryl. She'll be all better soon, yay.
