My nerves are shot seriously!!
Was out walking the dogs about an hour ago and this wee girl on a bike came up to see the them.
Dillon and Daisy were being petted and i had some chicken for her to give them, while that was happening Darla backed away and squirmed out of her harness!
The girl wasnt even trying to get near her!
It happened so fast too.
I called her back with chicken but she just kept walking away down the streets.
The wee girl came with me as we chased her for what seemed an eternity!
The girl had to go back to where we started to get her bike, which i think was better anyway as she wouldnt come near the wee girl anyhow.
Meanwhile i followed Darla down all the streets.
Even a man with his kid tried to catch her, but she was having none of it.
She walked onto a road and i was screaming, the man in the car stopped thank god.
Luckily it is just small streets here in this scheme and not a main road nearby.
I ended up getting her cause she was at a dead end and went under a wheelbarrow at someones garden.
I lifted her and just started to carry her home.
A woman who had heard me shouting for her and trying to get her back came out her house and asked if i was ok cause i had stopped to try to calm down and get all the pups organised again.
She said she thought i had lost my child, well i did!!
Darla sat in my arms being petted by the woman like butter wouldnt melt.
Anyway she helped get Darla's harness back on and i just carried her to the house to be safe.
I think Darla needs an XS puppia now or at least her usual coat on to keep from slipping out again, but am not taking any chances.
I am still a nervous wreck now just thinking of it.
Poor we Daisy has scuffed her pads cause i was trying to run to catch up with Darla.
I bathed them when we got in and am going to put some savlon on them or something like that.
I didnt think at the time to just lift the other 2 and run, i was in such a panic!
Normally Jamie is with me at that time of day but he had to go up to the vets for Misty's insulin.
Anyway what a nightmare!! i really thought i was never going to get her back.
Am so grateful to have her here sleeping on my lap with the other 2.
I wouldnt wish that on my worst enemy, no joke it was awful!!
I think everyone in this area heard me calling her and crying as i went along.
Anyway it ended well thank goodness!!
