Wasn't really sure where to post this, but there will be massive changes to Entry Requirements from 1 January 2012 (to/from Ireland). I am so excited; this means we will be able to take our chis with us on holidays without all those expensive and complicated procedures. This also means that maybe someday I could import a chi puppy somewhere from Europe! I suppose if Ireland is changing all those requirements, then Uk will too, we will get lots more dogs from Europe for Crufts and other shows larger gene pool too. www.agriculture.gov.ie/pets/changestoentryrequirementsfrom1january2012/

I think they're still keeping it safe though, sounds really good. I didn't know it was such a complicated procedure over there!

That's brilliant. I mean, I'm not sure what it will mean for importing dogs. Obviously it will be a LOT easier but as far as the quality of UK chi's dropping or rising?
I think especially for people who take their dogs abroad on holiday or for people who are emigrating, it's great news.

hopefully it will be a good thing, making it easier to give people the opportunity to widen the gene pool
