Tracy, I personally think if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just my personal opinion on it. I think the same thing. I don't do mine unless they're showing signs that something is up. I don't think I've touched Mari or Maya's at all & only Milo's once. I'm sure Brody is just fine w/o any butt squeezin' for now.

I have only ever had to do daisys when she has an upset stomach.
Tracy you can see when they get full as they bulge slightly around the anus rather than bring flat. If he has no problems don't do them!
Lotus has never scooted so she's good!
Kelly sorry about goo hope he is feeling better soon!!
Btw there's vids on yortube for doing bums yuck! Lucy I'll do your dogs

Thanks everyone. Tracy, I don't think ALL dogs need it.. Goo obviously may have needed it, but it took two years to get the that point. Betty's buttgoo was brown, but not super thick, and I've had her longer than Goo. Just did Oona today, her goo was thick and brown. We feed raw, and I was SO EMBARASSED to have to ask/get info on this. I am giving everyone extra bones from now on (every third day for the girls, every second for Goo) and going to see how they go. Goo has had a nice, solid, firm stool today - previously he was having slightly soft, still formed, stools. Same with Betty. I think they might just need more bone. We got them $36 worth of organic chicken wings today at our organic butcher, to help them out. Hehe. The SO asked if any were for us (and was pouty when the answer was "No."). Goo continues to do well, I cone him when we can't be watching him (he HATES the cone), but if we're home and he's out I allow him cone-free time. He is still going to get a few baths a day, we're also giving Llysine and other supps to help support healing as well as his anti-biotics.

Ah wishing him a speedy recovery. Must not be pleasant at all for him but sounds like you're getting it sorted

Kelly, I think the chicken wings will help alot. Some dogs just need more than others. I know I probably am bone heavy as I do pre-mades (frozen primal nuggets and also the freeze dried stella and chewys) and he really LIKES bones so I tend to give him more than he probably needs. If I see him strain and poop out a tiny little rabbit turd, then I do a meaty meal next.

Kelly don't be embarrassed!!!! These things happen and every dog is different!!
I am bone heavy because daisy gets rocket bum although she has been a lot better recently I'm also organ heavy because it seems to stop the shedding! Some just need different things I think that's the good thing about raw you can change it!! I'd just keep their stools very firm so they have to push them out for a but mine take ages to poo you want a little but of strain so the glands get worked out!!!
