Great thread! I have only had to do it myself once for Darla. She had hers done by the vet too once, same as Dillon and Daisy, but they have been fine since. I heard that overdoing it, as in too may times when they dont show signs of needing it, can make them need it done more often, dont know how true that is though. My 3 havent been scooting, biting or licking, plus they always do solid poos so hopefully they dont need it done anytime soon.

I'm definitely going to a groomers today. Its £5 per dog (thats about $8 US) but I don't think Chaos needs it. I'm mainly worried about Gambit so will let the groomer have a feel and see what he thinks haha. I asked if I could hold them while its done. I don't trust my dogs lmao.

Should have read this thread earlier, 'cos it might have given me the courage to do Harry's a couple of weeks ago, instead of leaving it for the vet to do today! I learned how to do it when I had a Saturday job in a dog grooming parlour when I was a teenager (yep... a LONG time ago, lol!) and I used to do my Mum's poodle quite happily. But it's been such a long time since I last did it, that I kind of lost confidence in my ability to express them competently without hurting Harry or getting myself covered in... (yes, it did happen when doing a German Shepherd at the parlour, once )

I've been thinking about taking my girl to the groomer to have her glands checked out. I'm not sure why I haven't, yet. I hope if I take her that she'll be alright there. She's young and hasn't been to the groomer, yet.
