i have a question. Right now Max (11 weeks old, half chi and half mini poodle) is piddle pad trained to our master bathroom (his room now..lol). He still misses with poo but he's learning. Our living room is smaller than our bedroom so we do spend a lot of time in here. We let him out often into our master bedroom, take walks, practice tricks, play, ect. The kids are in and out of here all day, and I have had them give treats to Max when they viisit. Even when he's out and about in our huge bedroom he doesn't make many mistakes. Although he loves to pee on our comforter and I can't figure out why. If I catch him, i say no and put him back into the bathroom. Then clean the spot with the stuff from the pet store.
OK, here's my question, eventually he'll have run of the entire house, unless we're not here. I don't know the footage but from our bathroom door to the front window where the living room is,, it's 24 of my steps (and i'm short, 5' nothing). It's a long long hallway with the bedrooms on the right. We have a 4 bedroom apt. Because he's been piddle pad trained in our bathroom do we need to put another one in the living room? Our puppy class teacher said no, but it seems an awful long way for him to go to relieve himself. I wanted to know what anyone things here.
Oh, one more question while I'm thinking about it...i get short cuddle sessions in the house, and longer cuddles when we are out and about in the car. I've heard people say that sometimes dogs never want to cuddle and then I hear that chi's are the most loveable dog and loves to be with you every waking minute. So far when he's out in the bedroom he's right there with me.
Sorry for the long post, but these are just things I'm thinking about. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I'm a brand new mother to a chi, just trying to learn. I love him so much
