I decided to give Stella and Chewy's a try. I don't care for the veggies in it at all, but I figured once in a while to change things up I'd give it to them. I think Kristi had mentioned before that there is very little veggies in it anyways.
I went ahead and asked my husband to pick up a bag of the Dandy Lamb on his way home. When he gets home he hands me the bag, and they are these huge patties! Twelve of them! One patty is way to much, even for four dogs.
My question is, can I thaw a patty partially out in the refrigerator, cut off what I need, then refreeze?
With Hare Today grinds I do, but idk about doing it with the Stella and Chewy's.
Thanks!

I would I can't see it being any different I've re frozen food that's on the turn before and fed it and they don't care and had no stomach upsets!! I suppose it's no difference to dogs burying bones and digging them up months later
So yeah I would

O no! Yes they come in two sizes, sounds like you have the large ones! Im having kind of a similar predicament, about 8 patties are all stuck together and frozen rock solid and Im not sure how to get it apart without thawing. Ive been nervous to try thawing them a bit, but I know dogs have tougher stomachs than we think and its probably fine. Or maybe you could thaw one and divide it up between them for two days?

There is only 5% fruit/veggies in it, really just as a binder, the other 95% is meat, bone, organ...they don't denature the meats used, either, which is HUGE. Many frozen raws do. YOu have to get the bags with the little pattys, that are about the size of a medium sized cookie. Leah, Oakley and Bryco all get 1 patty a day (in 2 feedings), they are 2.5, a bit under 3.5, and 4.5 lbs. So different dogs need different amounts. Laurel gets 3 pattys a day, she is 9-10 lbs, Trigger gets 1.5 patties a day, at 7 lbs, and Ivy is getting 2 patties a day at 4 lbs. Those are the small patties tho.

I haven't tried the frozen S&C's. I just get the freeze dried. Easy for traveling, etc. But yeah! Go ahead and thaw one out and split it up and then stick the leftovers back in the fridge or re-freeze.
When I have patties stuck together, I slide a knife in between and then twist the knife and it pops them right apart.

Thank you ladies! I gave the Stella and Chewy's for breakfast and they gobbled it right up. I added some to their Ziwi. I'm not sure how their tummies will react to veggies, but since there's such a small amount they should be fine!
