It doesn't all have to be perfect, as long as his stools are too loose or to hard and he's not straining to go, you're ok. Whats making you doubt it?

When you're just starting out, you will have bones more often, especially while you're adding new proteins and then when you start adding organs. I remember when my lot where used to all meats and I lowered their bone content and gave them a heart (doesn't count as an organ) and OH MY GOSH that was a bad day for their bums lol, squirts galore- yuck!
Like I said, as long as he isn't straining too much, I wouldn't worry. Also, you can just cut the meat off of the thigh bone and give it to him without the bone. Have you started adding pork in yet?

Yeah I cut the meat off all the thighs tonight.
Ive made his meals up to be 1/2 a chicken wing one meal and chicken thigh meat the other. He had his 1st boneless meal tonight and I don't think he was all that thrilled as he inhaled it in 2 seconds flat!
Ive also put some little balls of prok mince in with his chicken meals gradually building up to where one meal is pork mince. And also bagged up some ribs to.
Seems like an awful lot of faffing about though, took me ages! Do you do the same? Buy loads and portion it all up?

I am so OCD I weigh every last portion LOL. I have a little book with a page dedicated to each dog with their weight, what percentage they're getting, how much that weighs, then how much that is for boneless, bone and organ. Again, its just because I am so OCD, but it really does not have to be that hard. It can be overwhelming in the beginning, especially because of the whole adding in one bite at a time and getting them used to all the proteins, but after that part, it really does get easier. I know that you will get to a point where you can just eyeball it and not have to weigh. Also, remember that right now you only have Louie so it'll be easier to remember. You will find that with chicken, they will just eat it faster, same with mince. There's not really that much to chew. The only time they really take their time is when its a cute of lamb or beef where its more chewy. My 3 are pigs though lol so they will inhale and start looking for more! How are his stools? If they're quite firm, you can do both meals boneless and then a wing tip when you're adding in the pork. Obviously not every day because he will still need the bone content. If they become loose, you can add some more. You'll get to know how much bone content he needs by watching him and watching his stools (glamorous, I know ) Its better to portion everything up once you've bought it otherwise it'll just mean more work at feeding times. Also, eventually, you'll probably get to the point where, if one night you're having lamb or chicken, you just cut off a piece of your meat before seasoning etc and give it to him so it won't always be that he has his own separate food.

He had boneless chicken last night. Stupid me defrosted the wrong bag so he had a pork rib for breakfast (I figured it would be okay as its quite boney) And hes just has another boneless chicken meal. I was worried his stool might be loose as hes never had boneless before (or pork!) but its not even slightly loose its fantastic! I made sure to defrost a bag that has a tiny bite of pork mince with it for tomorrow Yeah its still kinda confusing as we are adding pork but hoping it will get easier once I know what he can tolerate etc. I think hes doing pretty good so far though his poos are amazing! I love seeing him get so excited when I open the fridge! lol

Great news. You will find that his stools will stay firm as you gave him the rib, I'd still go slowly with the boneless pork though, just to be safe.
