I personally don't think its fair that you've taken her knowing that you may well give her back.

Sorry but I'm confused? Have they asked you to simply look after her until they return, then they will want her back? Or, have they given her to you? If you aren't 100% sure about keeping her pemanently far better you look for a good rescue place for her while she is still young, rather than keep her and then find you can't cope and pass her on. If I were you, I wouldn't want her going back to owner, given the mum has already been allowed to have an accidental litter! Really it depends on the agreement you have with owner as to what your options are here Poor puppy, hope their sibling has gone to a good home.

what do you mean lucy i dont think its fair you made that comment i have worked tirelessly with animal recues in this country for years, and have fostered many animals from birds to large dogs. i have agreed to keep her, but in the event that my own dogs are put out they will take her back. but that is unlikely, what i said to sarah was said in jest. so if anyone does not like what say , tough,
and barbara im not even getting into with you here, im sure you remember me from the other forum, if you continue to carry onthe way you did on an other forum, ramming your views down peoples necks i will put in acomplaint about you.
it seem you cant to right for doing wrong, im sorry now i even started this thread

I think you were just misconstrued when you joked about giving it back. It can be hard to tell sometimes when people are being sacrastic or joking when reading something writted down.
I personally can't see why anyone could say you have done the wrong thing. You took the puppy away froma bad situation and from irresponsible people and did the best thing for it. They are stupid people to even allow a jrt to get a chihuahua pregnant in the first place, its so dangerous for the poor chihuahua to be carrying puppies from such a bigger breed, they are lucky there were no complications giving birth.
If you hadn't taken the puppy god knows where they would have taken it next, my guess is not to the shelter where they would have to pay arround £60 to surrender it. If you decide to keep her or not to keep her, she is still in the safest hands she has been in her whole life and I'm sure you will do a good job of finding her the right home if you don't keep her.
Has she been to the vets yet? I'm guessing she hasn't been vaccinated or anything? I hope she really is 8 weeks old, apparently a lot of people try and sell crosses too young and lie about their age so people think that they will be smaller, or just because they can't be bothered looking after it and paying for its care any more.
I wish you and Zelda the best in whatever you decide to do for her.
