Amanda i would have done exactely the same ! A puppy in rescue,is frightened to death, doesn't see people all the time, probably left for hours till it's fed again, people who work in the centres just don't have the time to spend with the babies,i know they do a fantastic job but it's not the same as being in a loving family home like yours

Amanda, I think you did exactly the right thing! Sounds like the puppy was in a bad place and you took it away from that and are giving it a wonderful home, even if it turns out temporarily! And you gave the owners information on getting the mom spayed. That is very responsible and the right thing to do! If you keep her - great! If you end up finding her another home, that's awesome too, and she has been loved and cared for in the meantime.
Many of the rescues/foster homes (at least in this country) are totally overcrowded and having a baby puppy sit in a crate for hours or be one of many, many dogs doesn't seem like an optimal situation!
Amanda, I think that puppy is in the best possible situation and bless you for taking her in!!!

I wish somone would knock at my door with a cute little Chihuahua cross puppy, all I ever get are broken pigeons(covered in lice), cats in a box left on doorstep or at this time of the year baby seagulls I guess I can dream
