It took about 20 photos to get that 1 the twins were supposed to be on it too but they wouldn't sit still and kept running away.

Hello and welcome, all lovely dogs, I have a soft spot for whippets, though I've never owned one Fostered one many years ago and was so tempted to keep her, but circumstances weren't right. Look forward to chatting with you. x

Hi so glad to see another Whippet fan. I have a Whippet a red fawn. He is 9 now but I used to show him at Open level. I have always loved Whippets and the Italians. Mine is typical of most Whippets in that he has short bursts of energy while the rest of the time he is 'lazy' and spends most the time chillin on his bed. He has a very low chase drive for a Whippet but I would never run him loose with my Chi's although they all go out together on leads.

He has a very low chase drive for a Whippet but I would never run him loose with my Chi's although they all go out together on leads. The whippets don't run with Lily the italians do Buck is ok but you have to watch Willow they are both kept on flexi leads and Lily is off lead so she can always get out of their way. I take the boys out first to let them run off their energy then OH brings Lily when thye have been out for about 15 minutes and she joins them on their walk. The younger whippets are walked in pairs on flexi leads unless in an enclosed area. Some of the older ones don't walk far. Owen has a suspected brain tumour and mostly just potters round the garden as does Jasper as he can't cope with the others knocking him about he is a bit frail these days. If we are road walking I can walk 6 together using connecting leads but I would never run more than 2 together as they tend to not look were they are going and accidents happen easily.

I use to have my daisy off lead as a pup... She still comes of now but not the others I don't trust them as much (FYI lotus decided to walk out the front door yesterday after my friend who was leaving trots down the road tail going mad and then I go Lotus and she goes 'shit' and hits the deck hahaha) anyway we have a huge field behind my house and there are a few greyhounds there... Mine get picked up as soon as I see them as they are ex racing and I don't feel comfy shame

By the way your dogs are lovely. We rent 8 acres for our horses and even in fields of that size my Whippet will run right into you and take your legs out from under you if its from behind and you dont see him!!! nothing wrong with his eyesite lol just I believe a Whippet trate such as the spinning on the spot when excited. I'm always suprised you dont see more Whippets about though as people always say when they see mine how much they love Whippets. Maybe we'd see more if we lived up North, a Whippet and flat cap seem to go hand in hand and always makes me think of 'Last of the summer wine'. We are off to Mooregreen Country show tomorrow where we will take him and often see a few more Whippets there.
