Some people don't have a clue about colours when they register them. At easter I took back a bitch we bred also her friend a whippet dog she had lived with since 8 weeks old she was 4 he 6. He was a solid fawn but was registered as a fawn parti colour. I sorted out their problems neither had been socialised properly and were dog aggressive and found them a new home last week. The dog on the right is the male the left the bitch. Attachments:

What about flat caps and guinea pigs lol? Were showing our rare breed guineas tomorrow and have made friends through the shows with at least a couple of older Northern chaps who have been breeding the guineas for about 50+years and still wear the caps. What they dont know about bloodlines etc aint worth knowing. I think they are great as they are mens men and its a shame most the younger generation see it as a girly hobby. For sure, you'll find few men breeding guinea pigs now in the North of England, thankfully! We have enough guineas in rescue oop here! I remember I had an uncle who bred budgies, I think that was popular at one time, but again, not anymore, though I am sure there are still shows. No, dog breeding seeems to be the big thing now, for good or ill. I know of people who are breeding pet whippets and selling them for between £500 and £600 a pup some even more yet my last litter are super pups 32 champions in their pedigree and I have struggled to sell them. I still have a bitch pup for sale and they are 6 months old. These pups all had homes booked but they were born the same colour as their mum Freyja and everyone wanted the same colour as dad Simba even though they were told that would never happen brindle is the dominant colour.

Yes, I think it's the same with many breeds and that includes Chihuahuas. At one time it was nigh on impossible to find a Chihuahua puppy, now they are advertised all over. I'd imagine even the best breeders now find it harder to place pet pups. There's only so many really good homes.

She is lovely. I don't think Lily is going to have that much coat as he mother was a smooth chihuahua.
