Poor daisy got fat!!!! Shes not massive I can feel her ribs JUST and she has a slight waist not much LoL
Anyway she was way too skinny before because SHR has such a thick coat I find it hard to tell but when I bathed her she was skin and bone. So I upped her food and well obviously upped it too much.
She's about 1/2lb over weight I think. I've cut her back to 2oz a day and she lost .4 ounce in 1 day. Loosing the weight isn't a problem it's finding a happy medium.
She has spits and starts with activity is walked every day but a lazy bum at home she wants a peaceful life she charges around with the others but doesn't play as much as they do and her form of playing is rolling around on her back lol
So once it's lost do I just do trial and error and up the food by .1 of an ounce or something? SHR currently eats less than the others and I feel so bad ecause she loves her food she tells me it's dinner time

Its hard with them being long hair and just seems to creep up! Pix did the same - one day I was sitting in the vets office reading the 'is your dog overweight' poster and had the shock to know she WAS overweight! It's so easy to do.
I think you just have to trial and error and weekly weigh ins. I don't have scales to weigh her - I may have to get some (But I hate scales!). I bet you can get her back to a proper fighting weight in no time. Maybe get some extra chews in that she gets flavour from rather than calories. In our house they get pizzles and can't get hardly anything off them, more taste. So when she's hungry she can have something.
My vet said to give pixel carrot sticks and I was so shocked she actually DOES like them!

Daisy will eat anything seriously this dog adores food!!! I have a video of what she does when it's dinner time she gets really annoying pawing me kicking me licking me she knows her tummy rumbles!! They get chews and stuff always have and it's not a case of that it's I upped her food bytoo much and now she's a monkey! She's never weighed 6lb I nearly died she should be between 5 and 5.5 she's tall but slender normally lol I have to be cAreful with what she gets as SHR has major food allergies and gets chronic runs if she has stuff processed so yeah I think I can get the weight off it's just finding her happy medium once abi is back at school I can up their walking

Roll on Wednesday and school I say!
Pixel is over that she's almost 7 and I reckon she should be 6. Having her sit about for a month didn't help either. Hoping raw diet will help her lose it now, that and being allowed to go about her business again.

They love it - they really wolf down their food now, no loose poop either it's been plain sailing so far. I don't like handling it though but there ya go, small price to pay for a great diet.

haha! I DO use a spoon but its still messy. Its just me being squeamish. I've been to rawtogo today actually, the lady that runs it went and met me even though they are officially closed. Got some duck necks to give, thats as a meal replacement right? Not a snack?
