Toothbrushes

ok so I have finally got Pip used to brushing his teeth, he's awesome with it now and really let's me get in there and brush. Roo, not so much. The minute she sees the toothbrush come out she tries to hide her head by putting it down really low and put her paws over her mouth. lol. I don't think it helps that the toothbrush seems too big for her. I have a really tiny one but there's so much plastic on the head the plastic just seems to get in the way.

So what toothbrush do you all use for your chi's? Can anyone recommend me a good one? I'm using a child's toothbrush for Pip and that works pretty well, but the plastic gets in the way too much for Roo. It's doable, but there must be something better. Any suggestions?

Paula this is what works for us...we had the same problem w/ our smaller 3, and this brush 100% is a lifesaver

The smaller end is the perfect size. Gambit doesn't have very many teeth though lol bless him.
Its still a work in progress for my guys, they really don't like to have them brushed but they LOVE the toothpaste

What toothpaste do you all use? I have tropiclean gel and louie hates it!
Won't let me anywhere near him with a toothbrush and dribbles the gel off when I smear it on a treat the cheeky so in so!

I use the toothpaste in that link. Virbac from CET or whatever it is lol. I think it's go a chicken flavour? I dunno. I wanted to try that tropiclean but it's like £20

I use the CET flavored ones Before adding toothpaste I dip the brushes in a 1/3 hydrogen peroxide, 2/3 water solution, add toothpaste, and brush away They don't seem to taste the peroxide and it gets up under their gums to clean there which is great.

Thanks so much for the replies everyone. As for toothpaste, I use the CET vanilla mint. Pip LOVES the taste of it. And I love the smell, so yay!

Thanks so much, Kristi! I'm going to pick this one up, it looks perfect! That's a great tip about the peroxide too. You are queen of great chi tips! ;D
