In pain

My poor little finn is in pain, i can tell.
He's trembling a bit and has his ears back. He can't seem to get comfortable and looks sad in general. I hate it!!
I called the vets the morning and she suggested giving him a quarter of a baby aspirin. Ok pretty sure i don't have any so i will have to get some but what i want to know is how i would cut something that small into fourths!? Suggestions?

Poor sweetie. I'm sure he'll be feeling better soon. You can use a plain razor blade to cut the pill. It won't be perfect, but you should be able to get a wee quarter from it.

I'm surprised they didn't give you some metacam, that can be dosed for very small chi's. They have a 0.5 mg/mL concentration that comes with a little syringe calibrated in 1-lb increments. I hope he's feeling better soon. Keep us posted. xx

Are u far from the vet??? Could u go there for pain killers?? Did they not give him a long lasting pain killer jab whilst he was under?

i have to cut Lulas pills up and they're tiny.
I bought an inexpensive pill cutter from my local chemist and they are pretty accurate when cutting up tiny pills xx

You could also dissolve the pill in a teaspoon of water and then mix it well and give 1/4 of the solution. (Easiest if you have a syringe)

I didn't end up giving him meds. He perked up a bit and i have him out of the pen and the others locked up. He isn't trying to do any jumping and is behaving well. He just wants to be in the room with me at all times. lol He's on my lap right now...

Hope Finn is soon feeling better, most dogs sail through neutering, but all are diferrent.
