Barbara thats incredibly unfair. But no more unfair than calling me a "crazy person" because I am involved with animal rescue and am pro rescue ...

You can act like it's the other way around all day long because we haven't rescued each of our dogs, but you just look like a crazy person. Call me "crazy person" all you like, but unlike you, I'm not the one selling or "adopting" out my dog, that I have bought, after deciding I don't want them because they have patellla luxation. If that makes me makes me a "crazy" so be it This is an entirely different conversation. Because I don't want to be a breeder that does not take care of her dogs. I don't want so many dogs running around they can't receive love, care and individual attention. SO SHOOT ME! I will also pet out retired bitches and studs. Again, shoot me My dogs while they live here will live a life that enables them to continue life on elsewhere, rather than be emotionally crippled in a kennel. Ivy was bought TO BREED. On a contract, stating she would be healthy enough TO BREED. To pass health tests. She was not healthy enough to breed. Therefore, she was placed in a pet home, to be a pet. I did not buy a pet. I can't stand my husband's dog that was bought 'as a pet', she bites me, has so many problems, ... but she was bought AS A PET, A FOREVER contract was made on her, and she will be with us and receive the same care and love and attention as my others until the day she dies. We spent over $1000 with a trainer who basically said, sorry, she's just going to hate you...sucks, but I believe if a dog is bought as a pet it is a pet for life. See the difference? Sorry, but I just do not agree with having a kennel full of dogs and it is impossible to have a quality breeding program without rehoming dogs that were purchased to breed or show that did not fulfill that role. I could get into the mathematics and numbers, but its just not necessary.

I think there is a distinction between saying someone LOOKS like a crazy person when they say a certain thing, and saying that they ARE a crazy person. Regardless, I think its a much more personal remark to go after the way someone actually cares for their dogs than to comment on their character. I think rescue work is to be applauded, but I also think responsible careful breeding is to be applauded as well. I would like to see this conversation get back to defining responsible breeding practices, not turned into a war between breeders and rescuers.

As far as the "not cute" comment I do see where you guys are coming from. I think it was a 50/50 call and I typically don't go that route I was just sooo mad she was trying to say THAT DOG was going to offer something to the breed. LOL I think I'd go back and apologize not that it would make a difference but...the thread has been closed. I usually try my hardest to post in way that provides accurate information that might be helpful, but sometimes maybe it's better to just 'not', some people you can't make a difference with and some you can...knowing who's who is difficult.

I take a different approach and people can like me and my opinions or not.
I decided to be the grown up. Be the hero. Take the high road. I decided a long time ago that I can be right or I can be happy. Confidently, respectfully give your opinion and let it be. Who cares what others think or say. Don't join in the nonsense. I am happy as can be to let others have the last word or fulfill their need to be right. Does not make them the "winner". Just another approach.

I think rescue work is to be applauded, but I also think responsible careful breeding is to be applauded as well. I would like to see this conversation get back to defining responsible breeding practices, not turned into a war between breeders and rescuers. I am usually pretty simple, basic and clear to understand. This was the point I was trying to make.
