Yesterday Pixel seemed to slightly twist her leg coming up the chi stairs onto the sofa but seemed okay after that. Today she is trying to stay off the leg altogether I am trying not to panic, we had a faily long walk Sunday - she was on the lead but it was further than she's gone so far. My vet did say if she's sore on the leg after a long walk rest her for a few days before taking her out again - so trying not to panic. I am going to see how it goes for a few days and if she's still limping take her back but OMg I can't go through that again. Could be the pin I suppose. She's 12 weeks in the clear since her op and so far no issues - this is the first.

yes her leg isn't hanging like it was before her op - she was like a threelegged dog then, and right now she's using it but very tenderly - you can see she would rather not. I hope its muscle strain and not the pin coming out or even worse Yep she's in her crate right now snoring her head off. Fingers crossed.

I'd just keep her on crate rest and try not to panic, leave her for a few days and possibly see if your vet might prescribe some anti-inflammatory pain killer? They probably will want to see her and check the knee but IMO its worth it for the peace of mind.

Oh I will definitely take her in a day or two if she isn't recovered.
problem with me is I panic BIG TIME - if the vet says it is her op and problems I am likely to freak so if it's muscular then a day or two in her crate should fix it. Not ready for round two of panic.

I wouldn't worry too much, but I probably would take her in to have your vet check it just to give you peace of mind. If she was using it fine before this, I don't think at 12 weeks something major would have happened with the pin really.

Really Paula? I'm so pleased to hear you say that having one of yours have the op too.
She didnt impact her leg - what I saw last night was a slight twist, i'm thinking it was tired from her walk. We got lost and evded going further than planned - I carried her alot of that too but she kept fighting to go down. It was flat, not hilly.
fingers crossed. She was trying to play with Rez before I crated her - so it can't hurt that much right?
Bloody dog - that one has frightened the life out of me from day 1!

Well, if the pins didn't bother her previously, and if she was using the leg well before, and hasn't had any accident or trauma to the leg, the pin probably didn't have any major movement. At 12 weeks it should be pretty well settled in there. With Roo the pins always sorta bothered her and you could easily feel them. I think with LP surgery, if you they're kept calm for a few months generally everything should heal in place pretty well. I wouldn't worry too much. Let us know what the vet says.
