I decided to go ahead and get finns last puppy shot on friday. I am planning on taking him trick or treating and decided i'd better get it done. I've been putting it off due to fear of another reaction but plan on medicating him b4hand. He hasn't ever been out and around because of it and i feel i'm doing a disservice to him by keeping him up and away from everything. the dr is going to give him something before the shot as well so i think he will be fine. I trust my dr. what is the dosage for him though, i can't remember. I have childrens benadryl to give him and he is like 4 lbs maybe..def. not more.

The does is 1-2 mg per lb...normal suspension for children's liquid benadryl is 2.5 mg per ml, so I would dose with 2 ml 2x a day for a day before the shot and the morning of. That is a dose of 5 mg, its on the low end of dosage, so you could prob do as much as 2.5-3 ml (7.5 mg max dosage, 8 mg prob being the most you should give without direct vet supervision).
