Yesterday Darla just couldnt keep food down at all.
She got her breakfast just after 6am as usual and about half an hour later brought it back up.
Then the same at lunchtime, so for her dinner i gave her a little bit of chicken breast instead (just the cooked slices from Asda) anyhow she also brought that back up.
So i called the vet and took her in cause i would just have worried all night.
He gave her a good checkup and suggested what i thought, to give her no food till 10am this morning.
He gave her 2 injections to stop the vomiting and a liquid in a syringe to put in her mouth, i think of antacids to take 3 times a day till it's done.
He was very impressed at how she took the injections, especially since he said the 2nd one which had some sort of vitamins in it, usually makes some dogs freak, so i was proud of my brave wee girl, bless her.
Am glad Jamie was starting work later lastnight, cause i had to give the first syringe at 9. was not easy!
He is usually away by 5.
Since she couldnt have any food a pill was out of the question so had to be the liquid.
Anyhow she got a light meal of chicken at 10 this morning and we waited half an hour then did her meds.
So far so good she hasnt been sick.
I dont know what caused this cause i know she hasnt eaten anything bad, i have been with her the whole time.
Even for changing the flavour of dog food, i always mix till the old bag is done.
Anyway, hopefully she continues to keep the chicken down today and can start giving her normal food tomorrow.
Even after being sick she acted normally and played with her tennis ball.
I felt so sorry for her too when i had to keep her out the kitchen to feed Daisy and Dillon, cause she looked so sad that she wasnt getting any.
Fingers crossed she will be back to normal soon. xxx
