I have seen this refrigerated tubed food in the grocery stores. Saw it had a lot of veggies and salt and walked on by. Today was at a pet specialty store to get some more Stella and Chewy's and saw they had a fridge with the Fresh Pet, but it was a 'premium' line of their foods called Vital. NO salt, no grains or potatos, no veggies or fruits. I bought a tube of the Chicken, Beef, Salmon, and Egg and sliced off some for Brody for dinner. He snarfed it. And he is SO not a snarfer. I think I will keep it on hand for those days when he decides to go on a hunger strike and just for added variety. It is cooked, pastureized and processed, so I would classify it in the same category as canned. Here's the website: freshpet.com/brand/vital/The ingredients on the one I bought today .... Ingredients: Chicken, Beef, Chicken Liver, Salmon, Eggs, Carrageenan, Natural Flavors, Inulin, Green Tea Extract. I wonder why they add the green tea extract? Hmmmmm.... Anyway, wondering if anyone else had seen it, tried it, or had opinions on it??

I hadn't seen the premium ones, but it sounds pretty good... you will have to let us know what you think of it! I had ignored it for the same initial reasons you listed. $20 says (if I could find it) Charm wouldn't touch it though, *sigh*.

How does it compare price wise Tracy to say, Stella & Chewy's? Similar? I wonder if our store carries it...I'll have to ask when I go in tomorrow. It does sound good though.
I was also going to ask if anyone here has tried Pet Kind canned food? They had it next to the canned ZP at the store & it was over $1 less per can so I grabbed a couple cans the other day. Ingredients look good but they say on the label that it's a supplement to a raw or good quality dry diet. Wonder what makes it a "supplement"? I figured I'd add it in every now & again...it is very similar to canned ZP per looks. I like the different ingredients too. Here is the info to the one I got which was Venison/Duck/Salmon

Oh, that seems interesting. I noticed they have it at my local Petsmart so I may pick it up and try it. How were Brody's poos after eating it? What is the consistency like? You can just keep re-refrigerating it, I assume?

I think it's comparable to S&C in price, but I will check for sure. OK, I paid $10.99 for the 2 pound roll. I haven't tried the Pet Kind brand. I did pick up more of the Weruva canned food when I was out though. My guess on the 'supplement' statement would be that I don't see a calcium source so it probably doesn't meet AAFCO standards for a complete diet? Let us know what your pups think!

You can just keep re-refrigerating it, I assume? Be sure and get the "Vital" and not the regular line Paula. If you do get one of the other flavors, they have fruits and/or veggies so be aware of that. The one with multiple proteins didn't have those included. I like that, but there are some dogs that may not be able to tolerate all the different proteins in that one. He hasn't pooped yet. I'll let ya know on that one. The consistency is sort of rubbery and firm. Maybe like tofu? It's very smooth, you can't see any chunks in it. The website says you can freeze it but it does change the consistency some. One review I said said that freezing it makes it a little spongey. It's probably better just being refrigerated, but it would take me foreverrrrrr to go through and since I am just using it intermittently for variety, I sliced it up and put it into baggies and froze.

Thanks Tracy. I may pick one up and try it. I'm kinda surprised Petsmart even carries it.
