its deafo not ring worm ! ... as that will show as very defined cycle pattens on the skin and complete round bald patches.
is he lying on anything really hot ? perhaps some kinda heat rash ? just a thought ...
maybe change his bedding too ... just a plain 100% cotton blanket .... prehaps the vet can do a skin allergy test like they do for us ....
its such a shame ;-(

Hubby used to get a rash on his ankles and kept telling me it must be flea bites, off i go to the vets for flea spray did the whole house(Hate the thought ) did all the dogs and cat, still kept getting them.Did all the furniture etc etc.turned out to be the washing powder and softner, changed to the fairy baby one spots gone,so maybe it is what you're washing the blankets in

Spike gets something like that every spring.. he is allergic to something and will get it every year.. i just give him a couple baths using Nizoral shampoo (its for human dandruff) and it gets rid of it in about 2 weeks.
Also i changed the laundry detergent to a free and clear one and that helped alot too! and don't use the fabric softener.. alot of ppl and animals are allergic to it. (my hubby gets a rash if i use it on his cloths)
Good luck!

He's been here for a couple of days and were seeing if it clears up. He hasn't scratched at all in that area. There are some large like dry scaley bits of skin hanging off, am going to bath him tonight in the shampoo I have for when leilanis cost was a mess and all ripped out from scratching (it's aloe so will sooth). Some of it reminds me like cradle cap on a baby just not really thick and wet like when it's drying out?
Could it be the water?? Wr have different water in diff parts of the country, mine is typically v hard water here because I'm in London (lime scale is a pain to get rid of) I really dunno justthrowing it out there I wondered if it was environmental. I don't use non bio.. I'm using bold ATM because it was dead cheap and he has been sleeping on bold blankets (haha) wish I could find my lavender oil that clears up different infections!! Hmmm

Could it be the shampoo you use on him or your laundry detergent? My mom's chi is allergic to fleece ( !!!) and breaks out in hives if she sets foot on it. I would get Pez some nice cotton baby blankets and wash them in a super basic detergent. It can't hurt?
