Does anyone use one? If so what size do you use for your chi? I was going to try the medium as the small looks tiny.
I'm considering trying one on Pip. He has a double coat and he sheds like mad. I have not changed his food and I'm not giving him anything new treat wise. A bath and a good brushing helps, but I don't want to bathe him weekly so I'm wondering if anyone uses and thinks the furminator might help? I'm desperate at this point as his hair is like little needles and constantly getting stuck in my clothes.
I'm not sure why he's shedding like this. I wondered if it might be the dry heat as he likes to sit in front of the heater.

I have used the long coat version a few times to thin out the toplines on my girls. I just am not good enough with thinning shears yet to do it that way. But never used them on the SC.

Thanks Kristi. I'm a bit leery to use it, but I'm desperate at this point. I think someone on here (maybe Heather?) used the furminator on their short haired pups, at least I think I read a post from her somewhere that she did. Pip's coat is super thick and double coated.

Tell me more about the zoom groom? Kaspar is shedding like crazy at the moment and the white hair is getting everywhere.

It's a rubber brush with bobbles u brush in circular motions and it lifts all the loose hair I tend to follow through with a slicker after to catch any left

I'd be afraid the furminator would break the coat? Have you tried just a greyhound comb (metal comb with narrow teeth) and get all the way down to his skin to get the dead hair out?
