Can you flamin believe our luck! Pixel it seems has a particularly virulent (sp) strain of Kennel cough. She's been poorly this afternoon, streaming eyes, snotty nose, hot, bringing up mucous so we took her to the vet who said her glands are up alot too and her chest is rattly. He said it's a nasty Virus that was around alot towards the end of last year. I asked what it was called and he said it's one of those that gets grouped under the name Kennel Cough.
He said that she's likely to get worse for a few days, she's had an anti inflammatory (mainly for her chest) and is on antibiotics.
He also said my other two will probably get it and to ring for antibiotics unless they too are rattly and then to get the last appointment of the day as it's so contagious and he'd rather not see us in the surgery.
No walks for 10 days.
I'm quite scared. Anyones chi had this before? Had to be Pixel didn't it?

Ok I stole this from there apparently works especially since it's a virus
one dollop of honey - buy the most expensive you can afford, manuka is the best
one dollop of blackcurrant jam
mix with a little cooled boiled water to a sticky paste
add 2 drops of teatree essential oil or eucalyptus essential oil to each batch.
Give to dogs as and when, as often as you like, nothing to overdose on, my dogs love it.
Ot works on humans too - take a little sherry glass size portion as a dose - helps to get rid of colds and flu much quicker.

What do you use manuka for? I'm not a honey person and can't warrant spending £10 on stuff I don't like unless it's a miracle cure lol

Twig had kennel cough when she was about 5 months old got it from SIL's dogs that had visited Neil's mums the day before she was really bad ....anyway she improved a lot after 2 days on antibiotics and I think we gave her a tiny bit child's honey cough syrup on advice of the vet I prob wouldn't do that now but make something like above
