found an amazing raw food supplier here in Ontario to begin Elly's raw feedings the moment she comes home from the Breeder. the woman was amazing, helped me write out a feeding schedule, weights, et c of food, and helped me choose which is best for her coming home from the Breeder, and off.. (pardon my french) shit quality kibble. we're putting her on a mixture of tripe, ground chicken, ground turkey (bone in) and diced chicken heart.. until she gets her weight up, and is a bit older.. i'm getting her a week earlier then planned. so i have the awesome chance to train her and get her eating well before she is too accustom to the dry food she has been on. my supplier also makes her own dehydrated dog treats so i snatched up some dehydrated lung for her as training treats. <3 it was kind of awesome to go to the suppliers farm and see where the animals she uses for the raw food are raised. she has an amazing piece of land, with a gorgeous relatively newly built farmhouse and store, on her property! it's gorgeous, when some of this snow melts, i'll take pics.. it really is picturesque landscape. maybe i'm just too used to the city. here's some pics:

oh wow you actualy got to go there???
I would be very careful that she doesnt get the runs.. she probably will do.. Ive never had problems putting pups straight onto feeding what i feed the older girls so i cant see why you would.
Is she underweight??

Oooh nommy! I'm SO glad you found her. How excellent that she is so helpful too! That's so brilliant that you actually got to visit! As Sarah said, be careful with the tripe and heart. Personally, for the first few days at the very least, I'd just go with the ground chicken or turkey that is bone in, just because the switch over usually causes loose stools anyway. Plus she will detox a little. Oooh Eva she is going to LOVE it! Its so much better than the nasty kibble she's on at the moment! Elly will know she's hit the jackpot x

Sarah, i did.. it's about twenty minutes up the road from my house. like, right under my nose and i had no clue. lol. it's the nicest 'pet store' i've ever gone to, too. Luc, you say the same things Lori (the raw food supplier) said.. small amounts of tripe if any.. and just a bit of diced heart once a day, to get her used to it. <3 the supplier does raw for larger breed dogs as well, and showed me the size of a heart that her Leonberger dogs eat.. seriously, the biggest cow hearts i've ever seen. XD

Sounds great! Buy some chicken necks or wings in case of loose stools and to get her used to using her teeth/jaws! Puppies adapt really fast. After a week or so on the chicken, you can start adding in beef, one bite at a time, and then pork, etc. You will eventually want her eating mostly red meats. Use the chicken for bone content and fill in the rest with meaty meats!
