Tracy, one step ahead of you.. already bought the chicken wing tips, and minced turkey with the bone in.  the supplier said that would help counter the effects of the tripe! basically, it's mixing the minced chicken, with the minced bone in turkey, a small amount of tripe, and then putting in an ice cube tray.. for her size we calculated she'd be eating about a half a cube 4 to 5 times a day... and then a bit of diced heart on top for good measure, and some wing tips as a snack, for her size 1 a day should be a good start.. the raw supplier is on vacation in the Dominican for 2 weeks, when she gets back.. i'll go grab some beef and lamb. |

i should add, this place has literally everything..
rabbit, lamb, emu, ostrich, chicken, turkey, beef, pork..
and so on, it's really quite insane! lol.

do the mixes have organ in? You will need to give her liver and kidney at some point to make sure its balanced.

the mixes that i bought, do not.. but the supplier said, to stick with the heart for a few weeks til she gets used to it all, and then the next time i come in, we can add some other organ meats, switch up meats, et c. it really is! they've been on our Canadian animal channel numerous times, because they are so highly preached about.. this woman tells it like it is. raw is best, period. when she heard what kind of puppy kibble she is currently eating she just shook her head long and slow and told me "you're in the right place"...lol. |

Heart counts as muscle meat btw... U need 5% liver and 5% other secreting organ (like kidney) just give her a chunk of each a week with her bone in stuff. Once she's use to it all!! Lots of breeders wean onto shit  |

i'm learning that.. honestly, when she told me she was feeding her RC, i almost puked in my mouth a little bit.. but i know it's the common brand for most chi breeders. not everyone has deep pockets that breeds, which is sad in a sense.. because raw is rarely thought of as an option, at least around here.. i was intrigued when i Luc told me about a raw diet, it only took 24 hours to convince me she was right, and it was best. |
