Is it recent? I know royal canin have changed their ingredients and put corn in them which can be a major allergen for some dogs.

Doesn't appear to have dry or flaking skin. The actual fur/coat is pink not his skin. I will see if I can get a photo and upload it. I had a feeling you might say RC was poor quality :-(

When I fed kibble, I fed Orijen which is grain free and all natural ingredients and meat that is fit for human consumption.
As Sarah said though, check for corn in the RC ingredients, maybe they've added that in and its causing him to itch?
You could try the shampoo.
Have you recently changed your washing powder or fabric conditioner?
You could try getting him some smelly chews and she if he prefers chewing them to his leg.

I'm just looking online at that shampoo now :-) Where can you get Orijen from? Washing powder is the same and he has stacks of chews, my boyfriend buys him new chews every week, spoilt chi not that he would admit that :-)

Haha bless! I bought Orijen online. I used to buy from different places, whichever I found it cheapest lol. I'll have to look and see which websites I used but that was two years ago now.
I bought the shampoo from VioVet as its the cheapest place I found it. If you haven't ordered from there before, put this voucher code in the box and you'll get £3 off your order:

Ok I ordered the Orijen from ZooPlus BUT one time I also used SeaPets, I think maybe I found a voucher for it or something? But always best to shop around. I can't remember who, but someone post a link to the UK version of the Pet Food Analysis site which shows dog foods and rates them according to quality so if the Orijen is a little steep, you can always have a search on there and see what else there is on offer. www.zooplus.co.uk/ask?q=orijen&num=20&form=searchwww.seapets.co.uk/search/dog-supplies/orijen.htmlI'm not saying this will fix his scratching. If its not a allergy, it might just be as your vet says, stress.

I think the pink fur is from Yeast similar to tear stains
