Just noticed lotus has dry skin on the tip of one f her ears (inside) her ear fringing is just starting growing so it's not that protected anyway it's been really hot here and she's had her little bum in the garden a lot!! I was gonna massage oil into but figured it'd burn in the sun! What about suntan lotion?? Do you think that will help obviously it'll moisturise and protect??
Love to know HOW she has it she is supplemented to the hills!!!

Ruby had a bit of dry skin on her ears when i got her and i put baby oil on them for a few days to soften them but like u say not a good idea in the sun, with my cat as he has white fur on his ears and they burn easily so i put sensitive or childrens sun lotion on them and it really helps

I wonder what causes it it's really random! Abis suntan lotion sprays on green hahahahhs omg this could be quite funny!! I'll try it today I have a feeling I did daisys last year because her fur wasn't in yet and all that inner ear was exposed!!!
I would e rubbish with a smooth I'd dip it in sunblock

Chaos has this too and im not sure what to do with it. I have been massaging a little bit of that coconut oil in to it (no baby oil lol) but its not just on the tip, its inside a bit.

You know...if I look hard enough all of mine has some sort of dry skin on the tips of their ears. Always have.  But it's usually covered up by fur & not noticable at all. I notice it most this time of year because the air is dry anyway so I think it gets a bit worse. Maxie's is the worst of my lot...he's always had very dry tips. It's gotten MUCH better since switching to raw but this time of year it's always the worst. I sometime dab some bag balm on it which helps or coconut oil I've used as well. I'm assuming it's fairly normal with perky eared dogs as "wind" or whatnot hits their ears & probably just tends to dry them out a bit more than floppy eared dogs. Of course I'm just assuming this since I always had floppy eared dogs. haha |

Lol I'm glad it's normal daisy doesn't have it but she has a little dry skin elsewhere (how I do not know!!)

Roo has a wee dry spot on one of her ears too. Just noticed it yesterday.
