So irritating how vets here ALL suggest doing the 3 (parvo/distemper) vacs. Two of which are giving when they're probably still immune anyway! When I got Evie they even tried talking me into doing a 4th because her breeder started "too early" for the 3 vac course (whatever). I told them I wasn't doing any more than 3 and he actually worked with me to come up with a schedule he'd "ok". But really.... all vets should be like yours & do only what is necessary rather than trying to suck us into visiting 3 times in the first couple months of puppy ownership. It's nothing but a way for them to make money--thats the only thing anyone "gains". Bleck!
I'm glad you came up with a good course of action for the boys vaccinations. Sounds like a fab vet...

Thing that gets me Is its in Their medication book!!! Just 1 jab so why do they think 3 is appropriate what numpty came up with that idea?
His consultations are really expensive but the way I see it is I don't go often and he's saving me a lot of money on the long run and my dogs will all be better for it. The freezer isn't a good idea because I keep buying food for them lol

Betsy came to me at 12 weeks un vaccinated ,but I think it was a money saver on the breeder as apposed to health!,so betsy had 1 lot of vaccinations ,at 14 weeks I told the vet to only give half the dose ,which he did,she didn't need a second course due to her age and immunity, the lepto I didn't do so the vet didn't bother asking me as he knows how I feel about vaccines lol, there are some decent vets out there but not many

I really wish I could find a vet like that around here. They are always pushy around here with everything and looking to make a buck. This post makes me feel a ton better about my choice of not getting my girl anymore of her vaccines, except the legally mandated rabies.
We have a puppy who is due for his vacc's tomorrow, and I read a bit about how terrible the reactions to the lepto vaccine could be. Lepto is also very rare around here, so they don't even need it. I really hate how vets around here push for unnecessary procedures.
