That's so interesting, Karen. My vet did the exact same thing. She said Roo was the fire element and Pip was water. (Totally accurate too.) I'm personally a big fan of non-traditional ways and treatments so it's a great fit for me. I love my vet.

Went for Hope's visit yesterday. She was switched to a different herb.
I remembered to ask about alopecia/hair loss. She gave me a great education on how western medicine decides that something is genetic and concentrates on how to fix the issue that just "is" whereas eastern medicine works to "disrupt" the genetics (sort of bypass or interrupt the predicted) and treat at the root.
She said that they look at CDA and similar not at the surface and manage that. The root they believe is a blood disorder. Not anemia but a change is needed to the blood. She said that they herbs that they give for that are not then for the hair loss, but to make the blood stronger which can help the symptom which is hair loss.
I do not know if you have tried the herbs yet but it sounded encouraging!

It is encouraging! My vet talked to me about the comparisons as well, I found it fascinating. The herb has not come in yet, but I'm excited to try it out for Roo and see how it goes. I should probably call and check just to be certain it's not in. She's moving into a new office atm so she may not be as on top of it as she normally would be. Either way, I'll posts results here.
