I find older people stop me to see them which daisy loves she's all over them like a total rash lotus tends to yap and stay by me but the oldies love a chi!! I have noticed this too. I really can't even take mine for a walk without a bunch of people fussing over them and wanting to see them. A lot of elderly people really do seem drawn to them. And children. A lot of kids come up to me.

The thing I don't like is people think because they are small they have a right to shove their hand in their faces and stroke them wen they wouldn't dare do that to a large breed!! They seem disgusted when I tell them to ask if they can stroke them and say their big huge hands are intimidating to them!

Lol Stacia it was me! I often feel judged by having them, like I said before, especially when I was on the train. I get the rat comments all the time, if I'm in a bitchy mood I'll reply. If not I'll just ignore them. I hate it when people bark at them My dogs look at them like, seriously WHY are you doing that? Also don't like it when people shove their hands in the chi's faces. If people come over and talk and ask I'm more than happy to let them stroke the, infact I WANT them to! I want my dogs to be socialised. And yes, its totally the Paris Hilton stereotype. If you own a Chi, you must be dumb and like to dress your dog up, carry it everywhere and do babytalk And before someone says something, to each their own lol if you want to do that, its fine I have people telling me their dogs do bigger craps then my dogs. Um, what exactly do you want me to do with that information? Congratulate you? Lol I'm just not a people person!

Oh yes the oldies do love a chi when they see them. Louie quite likes the old dears as as they are nice and quiet and gentle with him Kids often yell and scream. 'Oh look at the puppy!!!' To which I automatically mutter myself 'hes not a puppy grrr' Louie hates kids, they scare him. Yet they still think its okay to be loud/bounce balls/ride scooters/bikes around him Inconsiderate idiots. He has let a few kids stroke him, but only those who are very quiet and calm around him. Noisy kids just freak him right out as hes never been around them. Then theres all the usual 'rat' and 'tiny dog' and 'handbag' comments I swear people look genuinely stunned when I reply 'He's a dog, he has legs' That always gets them! They look at me like i've just said I eat kittens for breakfast or something. For some reason I also get everyone asking me what I feed him and then they all seem suprised when I say dry dog food. I never bother going into the whole grain free thing as it will just be wasted on them. They look confused enough when I say he eats dog food let alone complicating it by saying I don't buy it from the supermarket ha ha Some people bug the hell out of me though. Touch my dog without asking and you die, simple as. I have no problem with other dog owners saying hello on walks as he quite often runs upto people anyway but when its kids or ignorant people it BUGS me.

I havent had that many bad comments really. I get lots of nice ones. People have told me they were not like they expected too so that is always good to hear. Older people do love them, but am quite surprised at the number of men in their 30's to 40's that want to pet them. It really is a shame they get a bad rep cause once you know a chi you love them.
