For worms and fleas? I don't buy any treatments for Louie as I disagree with putting crap on/in my dog willy nilly. Just curious if theres anything you lot use to help keep fleas/worms at bay? I've heard apple cider vinegar in the water bowl is pretty good? Just to clarify, Louie has never had a flea on him and I watch his bowel movements and never see any signs of worms. A Frontline rep annoyed me in a shop last weekend by jumping on me when I answered I didn't use any 'preventative' treatments and then proceeded to talk about me behind my back to the person stood behind me in the queue! Lets just say I told her where to shove her stupid product and then had to walk out to calm down!

I used panacur but only because my dogs love to eat poop lol so I feel safer using it. For fleas, I try not to do it so often, but Kiki has had fleas in the past. Well actually flea singular. as soon as I saw it (which is easy because she's white) I used Frontline. And that happened on two occasions which I think is because we walk over marshes.

I just hate it when people judge me coz I don't use 'preventative treatment' My dog my opinion!
Louie is cream and SC so fleas will be very easy to spot on him
Ooo maybe i'll get a tea tree/lavender spray for the summer, might also help keep the flies away.
I'm sure i've read garlic keeps fleas away but i'm not sure I want to give him garlic capsules or anything. I'm sure i've also read garlic isnt good fo them
OMG just seen a lungworm advert with the slug arrrrgh now what do we do about that?!

I have only used a wormer once for Pip (panacur) because he was getting some blood and they wanted to rule out worms.
Pinkchi, I don't use flea preventative either and have never had a problem with fleas. And I don't give a flying fig who thinks anything about me because of it. It's poison, plain and simple. I can't see using a preventive. Why give your dog poison when they don't even have fleas. If I did see a flea on them (never have) I would bathe them and vacuum like a maniac, go over them with a flea comb, clean all their bedding etc. I try to avoid flea meds at all costs.

I don't use any flea meds. Have never seen a flea on Brody and he's a baldy. I'd see them if he had them.
For worms, I just use heartguard plus every 45 days for heartworms. It has a wormer in it, so he is getting that as well. I only use that during the summer months.

I use Fronline Plus on my crew. I don't use it in the wintertime....& in the summer...I start around the 1st of May thru around the end of September....fleas are really bad here...so I have to use it...& nothing else seems to work for mine....I hate when the Vet says I need to use it year round...I have never seen a flea on them in the cooler months...so I rather not put anymore on them then I have to.
