That is VERY strange! It does almost look like someone drew on him. Or could he have rubbed up against something that stained or discolored his fur? What are the hairs like up close, the same color, or just darker at the tip?

Yeah those pics are MUCH more clear. I think you said you tried washing it off. Has it grown since the pic? I thought you'd said it looked like a horse shoe & now it's an "S". VERY odd. I have no idea what it could be other than dye or something permanent if you've already tried washing it out.
But I agree...if it's just his fur I'd not worry unless something really obvious happened with his skin or his hair started to fall out there. Hopefully it'll fade...

I am starting to think it may be hair dye....I have an old towel I use to keep the dye from getting on my shirt....& I had laid it down to the side...& I think he may have laid on the towel...but can be 100% sure.....I am watching it like a hawk though.....Heather I thought it was horse shoe shaped...until the camera picked up more detail then you can see with the eye. I remember a few years ago Behr was standing under hubby while he dyed my hair & some fell on his fur....& it stayed stain for like a month.  |
