One of my girls gulps it down as my other girl passes it yuk ! yet she is a fussy picky eater and even best chicken or beef is picked at slowly I dont understand it. I feed all mine on Royal Canine and they look great. I was told to give a few pinapple chunks to all three of mine, which they love but it has made no difference. Should I try the juice instead? I also buy the stool repel tablets to no real effect, help

Royal canin has an additive type thing in it to attract the dogs to it and it comes out in their poo so their poo smells the same as the food to them

The pineapple trick doesn't work for everyone. It didn't work for me, the only thing that did was switching to raw. However, saying that, Chaos still eats it despite being raw fed

I think in some cases it's a diet issue, but many times it's not. My Pom was a poo eater and nothing got her to stop. Changing her diet and all the other tricks like pineapple juice and other add ins, nothing worked. I had to stand over her and pick it up right away. She would also eat poo out of my cat's litter box. Urgh.
My Pom would also poo in her crate, whereas Pip and Roo would never poo in their crate and they have never ate their poo either. I think some dogs just like to eat poo really. It's a hard habit to break. I think in some cases all you can do is stand over them when they go and pick it up immediately. :/

Paula, you just described Chaos. Its vile but if I don't stand over him while he's pooing, he will try to eat it as its coming out of his bum so nasty Kiki will try to lick cat poop, I want to vomit when I see that. Also, it makes me panic because I have no idea what the cat it came from is like!

Mine have dry food available 24/7 so I know its not because they feel hungry. Two out of my three eat it, one their own and the other is anyones including her own. I have read certain breeds are more prone to do it than others. Im going to try something from my vets next.
