Coltham Kismet.... :/
Some of you will know that over the weekend me and my OH decided not to get her. Though today I'm having lots of second thoughts and what ifs etc.
I think its safe to say we concentrated on all the negatives rather the positives....
I want her I really do! Just so scared its not going to work for whatever reason :/
Maybe it would help if I wrote a list of both positives and negatives to compare?
We are just worried that she won't be as good as Louie.
If she is still there when we move we have decided to go and meet her to see what we think. Its hard to really make a sure decision when we haven't met her.
We realise she will have a few minor issues. Toilet training, tartar etc. Which won't be a problem. Just generally being a worrybag really!

Honestly I think the reasons youve said aren't reasons. Teeth can be cleaned and toilet training is easy and for all you know she may well be trained
Positives Well bred dog - no offence to Louie but you don't know his background he could have a health defect somewhere! Kismet is well bred no risk of LP in her lines She is already spayed She's older Will have fab temperament Less shedding than Louie Good with other animals What you always wanted Giving her a forever home
I think you're taking less risk with her than Louie you had no clue what you were getting with him you will with her!! She's a bargain Louie will like her chis like chis its a fact!!
Cons You've just moved Increase indog food and vets bills altho it's minimal I'm not sure if you really want her?

with any dog you will get whether its a puppy or a kennel dog or a adult pet im sure there will be some degree of toilet training panda come from Neil and was fully toilet trained and sorry but i dont see how you can list tartar as a issue? :s if you are feeding raw then that will only take a few weeks to clean up? and wont be as good as louis in what way?

Ok just going to put my little piece in lol...
Personally I don't think you should make a decision yet. I don't think you should stress yourself either with it. I think you should wait until you've moved and you're settled and then like you said, go and see her. I know you're probably going over and over it in your head but I think you should put it out of your mind for now and when you're ready, then go and meet her and see what you think.
She's been listed for over a month now so there's a good chance she'll be there. If she isn't, I'm sure she's not the only brood bitch that will be retiring and Neil may have another available in the coming months.
Don't rush in to anything just because you want a girl and she's there right now and she's not that expensive. Teeth, toilet training, getting along with Louie etc., they're all things that can be dealt with when the time comes.
Moving is stressful in itself but you're causing more stress to yourself now. Try to put it from your mind for now and see what happens in a few weeks.

I wasn't listing tartar and toilet training as reasons not to get her. I know those will need work and that's fine they are just minor issues. I feed raw so that's fine, that would sort her teeth out in time.
I guess my main worry is Louie. I don't want to ruin what we have or end up with a super jealous pup. Although he used to live with a jack russell bitch with no problems.
I'm just paranoid it won't work and I don't know why!! I fell in love the moment I saw her I guess its just my way of distancing myself incase she's gone by the time we move.
I really do want her, and yes I've always wanted a girl. I'd love to give her a bath and sit and dry and brush her and pamper her. I'd love louie to have a friend. And I'd love to give her a nice retirement home. I just dunno why I always have to over think things

Lol because thinking things over is the responsible thing to do! Its normal to worry and wonder about all these things, in fact if you weren't thinking about them, I'd say not to get her!
Plus, there's always a chance she'll hate been bathe and brushed lol I know Kiki does.
What you have to ask yourself is, if she was a boy but looked exactly the same, same price etc, would you still be thinking about getting her?
I don't know Louie but I don't think adding another would be a problem. If they didn't get along at first, it would just have to be another thing to work out. Gambit flat out hated Chaos to begin with and is only just starting to bear being next to him lol.
Again, I just think you should try and put it from your mind and wait until you've moved and you're settled and then make a decision. It wouldn't be fair on her to bring her home and then move her after a few weeks anyway. Well, again, thats just my opinion.
I don't know if you've said already but is there a reason why you're going for an older girl and not a pup?

If she was a boy then no I probably wouldn't be thinking of getting him because I want a girl.
I always wanted a female puppy, but then Louie came along very local and free to a good home. I do prefer giving animals homes that need it. Since we got Louie he is So eaaasy and such a good boy.
I'd love a pup but A- can't afford one and B- ii don't have the time to train/toilet train a puppy properly as I'm out at work all day I don't think its fair on a puppy. I'd rather give kismet a home because she needs one. Puppies always find homes where as the older ones don't always find homes so easily
