She is getting spayed June 22nd. I will treat with Benedryl.
This is what it says- Pre-Operative Vaccines We recommend that you have your pet vaccinated at least two weeks prior to your appointment. We recommend that you abide by Oregon state law and have a current rabies vaccination for your pet. If your pet does not have a rabies vaccine, we can administer it at the time of surgery for a charge of $10.

Don't get it for her...frankly, lol, I would avoid it for a long, long time if you can. But you know I am very conservative as far as vaccines go with pets. www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com/purdue-vaccination-studies/ is a good article to read to get you forming your own opinions on it...since they don't REQUIRE the rabies vaccine, I would wait. I would see a normal blood test, and closer to adulthood, before I vaccinated for rabies.

Bella will be a harder argument with your vet b'c shes 2x the size of Izzie and wasn't sick. I personally wait as long as I can.

K. They are getting spayed at the Humane Society, so it's not the Vet that is used to them, or knows anything about them. May 28th they are having a vaccination clinic at Petco where you pay $5 for exam and $5 per vaccine, (have to have the exam to get a vaccine) so that's where I was going to get them done, so it would be a little less then a month before they would get spayed (which you recommended so they can recover from the vaccination). Or, I could do it at the spay for $10, but that would be a lot on her system. Or if the Humane Society wouldn't care, I could hold off on Bella's too.

My vet office check in lady asked if I wanted the girl's rabies shots while they were there for spay. I think my exact response was "Are you kidding? No.". She shrugged and said it was just on their file to ask. That was at the vet, though, and not Humane Society. It is required by my city but I will be holding off for awhile. Especially since I am interviewing a service who comes and stays at your home with your pets rather than our having to board them when they cannot go somewhere with us.
